Bob: “What in tarnation is this thing?”

He bent down and picked up the object, which appeared to be some sort of high-tech device. As he examined it, the device suddenly started beeping.

Bob: “What the heck? Is this thing gonna blow up or somethin’?”

Just then, a voice spoke out from the device.

Device: “Greetings, Bob. I am an alien from a distant planet. I have crash-landed on your planet, and I need your help to repair my spaceship.”

Bob: “An alien? You gotta be kiddin’ me.”

Device: “I assure you, I am not kidding. Please, can you help me?”

Bob: “Well, I reckon I ain’t got nothin’ better to do today. Sure, I’ll help ya out.”

And so, Bob set to work repairing the alien’s spaceship. After a few hours of tinkering, the spaceship was finally fixed.

Device: “Thank you, Bob. I am forever in your debt. As a token of my appreciation, I will grant you one wish. Anything you desire, I will make it happen.”

Bob thought for a moment, then grinned.

Bob: “I know just what I want. Can you make it so that every time I go to the bank, they give me an extra $100 in my account?”

Device: “Of course, Bob. Your wish is my command.”

Bob was thrilled. He raced to the bank, eager to see if his wish had come true. As he approached the teller, he tried to play it cool.

Teller: “Hello, sir. How can I help you today?”

Bob: “Oh, just makin’ a deposit. Nothin’ too exciting.”

Teller: “Alright, let me just check your account…hmm, that’s strange. It looks like there’s an extra $100 in your account.”

Bob tried to contain his excitement.

Bob: “Oh, really? That’s odd. Must be some sorta mistake.”

Teller: “Well, it’s certainly a lucky mistake. Have a nice day, sir!”

Bob left the bank, grinning from ear to ear. He couldn’t wait to see how much money he could accumulate with this new trick. But as he walked down the street, he heard a voice behind him.

Device: “Excuse me, Bob. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s been a slight…miscommunication. When you asked for an extra $100 in your account, I thought you meant every time you visit the bank, not just once.”

Bob stopped in his tracks, realizing his mistake.

Bob: “Well, ain’t that just great. I should’ve been more specific, I reckon.”

Device: “I’m sorry, Bob. I can’t reverse the wish, but I can give you one more wish as a consolation prize.”

Bob thought for a moment, then grinned again.

Bob: “I know just what I want this time. Can you make it so that every time I go to the bank, the teller thinks I’m Brad Pitt?”

The alien device chuckled.

Device: “Sure thing, Bob. Your wish is my command.”

And with that, Bob walked away, feeling like the luckiest man in the world.
